Sandy Ward  > Nuestras Raices - Our Roots > A Red Barn in Holyoke
The old red barn on the former Davignon property along Rte 5 overlooking the Connecticut River was threatened by development. A nonprofit community organization, Nuestras Raíces, bid to acquire the barn and move it to their new farm in south Holyoke. On October 28, 2006 I joined volunteers helping to clear the barn of debris. Professional barn movers began dismantling the barn on November 1.
