Sandy Ward  > Other > Nonotuck Street houses
In 2008 I began researching the history of our neighborhood. I've learned that these houses were built in the 1890's.

Sandy Ward > Our house at 56 Nonotuck, May 2007. We thought it would be 100 years old in 2008, and considered having a party to celebrate. But research has shown that Mrs. Betsey M Cleveland, who owned the house in 1911 (see 1911 Atlas) lived here from 1899 on. Water service was turned on Nov 15, 1894, according to records at Holyoke Water dept, so this house is at least 114 years old!

Early morning April 7, 2008. Beautiful lighting!

Sandy Ward > On this 1896 map, Nonotuck Street seems to extend north across the dingle, though the dashed lines there indicate that section is only a "proposed" street.

The trolley (thicker dashed lines = Electric Car line) runs on Lincoln Street and Northampton Street. (Trolley line on Pleasant Street not yet built.)
