My 1st attempt at making a Pysanki Egg! April 11, 2009 at my friend Helen's home. Fun!

Sandy Ward > I arrived mid afternoon; many people had already been working for an hour or more...
Sandy Ward > Take a clean raw egg... Begin to draw designs.., or dye it a background color (yellow example) to begin.
Sandy Ward > Decide which dye color...
Sandy Ward > Leave the egg in for a few minutes, or more for darker...
Sandy Ward > Here's my white egg and beginning doodles.... using wax applied with a special tool ("kistka").
Sandy Ward > Helen shows how to poke a hole in the end of the egg...
Sandy Ward > A long wire is inserted into the raw egg and wiggled around to break the yolk
Sandy Ward > Then the contents of the egg is blown out with air pressure from this tool, or....
Sandy Ward > by mouth  (but be careful not ot get any moisture on the dye, or any dye in your mouth).
