An inventory of items that should be removed from the Connecticut River began on the hot afternoon of July 16, 2008, with river level between 5.5 and 6.5 feet (according the
USGS data at Rt 391 bridge). Mary and I paddled a canoe along the Chicopee shore of the Connecticut River, scouting for trash. With GPS, maps, notepad, and camera, we tried to document the location of each "find" so that it can be found again and removed in the fall cleanup. A few days later I walked along the Holyoke shore and added more photos.
