I spent a week on Star Island in July 2009 and had plenty of opportunity to watch boats come and go. One rainy afternoon I took a boat tour to Duck Island (to see seals) and Appledore (to visit the Marine Lab and Celia Thaxter's Garden); the next day I took a 2-hour sail around the Isles of Shoals on a private sailboat.
