New Orleans - # - Sandy Ward's Photos

In April 2007 we visited Ken's cousin, joined a work party, toured a swamp, visited the French Quarter and attended one day of the Jazz & Heritage Fest. We also took a side trip along the gulf coast of Mississippi. I took over 350 photos in that one week! Only a selection here.

Ken arrived with Danish chocolates for his cousin Jan and her husband Phil. Ken had returned from a week in Denmark (unexpected business trip) just in time for our trip to New Orleans!

At church Jan introduced us to one of the FISH camp leaders...

and gave us a tour of FISH Camp (on the property of their Presbyterian Church). Volunteers stay here while helping in Hurricane Katrina disaster relief.

FISH = First in Service and Hope. Impressive program! We signed up to join a work team the following day.

Owner of the house and his sister and niece. The sister's house had already been fixed up and volunteers were able to walk there (a block or so away) to use her bathroom.
