Signs at corner of Jones Ferry Road and Main Street (Route 5), Holyoke.
Beautiful flowers cover a fence. Note the historic barn structure (and its very new roof) in background. The barn timbers were carefully saved and moved from the former Davignon farm in Holyoke. See photos of the red barn.
Sept 29, 2007. As I drove down Jones Ferry Road at 8:30am (on my way to the River Cleanup before the Festival), the sun was shining on the front of the new (recycled from old) barn. Later that day I walked in for a closer look... (next photo)
September 29, 2007. New foundation, new roof, but the original timbers of the historic barn are clearly visible.
See separate album about the original barn.
Lines of people wait for food (roast pork and roast chicken).
Hours earlier, I took this photo of the pig roasting (before the festival opened). Jaime, in white cap, and the other men were rotating the spits by hand.
People lined up to buy delicious ice cream or sorbet from Nancy's stand.
Ken chose Tamarind; I chose Mango. Yum!
This child was asleep as his parents waited in the ice cream line.
We followed some children through the woods on a path down to the Connecticut River. Great place to sit on a log, enjoy the peaceful view, and eat our ice cream
