A free book exchange in the lobby of Endsleigh Court, our home base in London June 12-25, 2013
A special library for members of The Model Railway Club -- books and magazines about trains and the modelling of trains. (See separate album of our visit to this club, the oldest of its kind in the world.)
The British Library
The British Library, with St Pancras Hotel and station visible beyond.
I like this bench! It instantly reminded me that The British Library used to chain down its reference books (a fact I had learned in library school decades ago).
In the British Library
I had meant to return to see this exhibit (in The British Library), but never did.
The Last Word cafe at The British Library.
I enjoyed this exhibit at the British Library.
The British Library has both a cafe (selling this carrot cake) and a restaurant inside the library building, as well as a cafe outside, called The Last Word. The glass walls behind Ken surround a huge stack area containing the King's Library.
Another view of the King's Library, which used to be housed in a room of the British Museum.
Second floor restaurant in The British Library
Deb showed me this room at the British Museum. It used to house the King's Library.
View (throught closed doors) of the National Art Library, which wasn't open at the hour we walked by.
